Mother’s Day is right around the corner. It’s a time to celebrate motherhood aand show the women in our life how much we appreciate all they have done for us. Some will give gifts of flowers, caandy, aand perfume, while others will make breakfast in bed, serve a favorite sweet treat, take over the household chores for the day, or even take mom out for a fancy five star meal.
One thing about all moms that holds true is they love the gift that come from the heart with some thought put behind it. Here are some very special craft ideas that are fun, affordable, aand Mom’s will love them.
Custom Lip Balm
You will need:
- Vaseline
- Crystal Light
- A small container (Mini Mason jar, or travel pill holder)
- A mixing tool (plastic knife or spoon)
Fill the empty container with Vaseline aand add the Crystal Light. The more Crystal light you add the richer the color (aand flavor!) will be. Using the lip balm right away will result in an exfoliating effect. Let the product sit for about an hour aand your mom will have a smooth, custom lip balm.
Vintage Button Earrings
You will need:
- 2 Matching Buttons
- 2 Earring Blanks
- E6000 Clear Glue
- Earring Wires
- Toothpick
- Wire Cutters
- Wax Paper (optional)
First ensure that your buttons have a flat back. If they do not, use your wire cutters to trip off any excess. Place a dab of E6000 glue onto the earring blank. Use a toothpick to spread it around so that there is an even coating. Be careful, because the glue can be a bit stringy! Be sure to follow the usage instruction aand warnings on the glue package, E6000 glue should be use in a well ventilated area aand will adult supervision. Lastly, place the button onto the glue coated pendant back. Making sure that it is centered aand it resting in the glue. Allow your custom earrings to sit on a flat surface in a well ventilated area until the glue has fully dried.
Easy M-O-M Breakfast
You will need:
- Bacon
- A Bagel
- Bagel topping (Cream cheese, jam, butter…)
- Strawberries
First cook the bacon to Mom’s liking. Some like it chewy, others burnt to a crisp. Then toast aand top the bagel with her favorite spread, maybe cream cheese, jam or butter. Slice the strawberries in half aand Cut the upper part of the strawberries so it has a bigger arch to look like hearts. Place the bagel in the center of your plate, aand arrange the bacon to look like M’s on either side. Place the strawberry hearts around the place aand Viola! A perfectly sweet Mother’s Day breakfast.
