At American Dream Cakes we believe in giving back to the community. We enjoy spreading the love the best way we know how – through dessert. Whether it’s big or small, being involved in the community is a trait we are proud of. Personally being involved with those around us only makes what we do even sweeter.
One-way ADC enjoys giving back aand getting involved with the community through the USO. About five years ago the USO noticed a lot of service members were getting married at the Magistrate’s Office. In an effort to enhance their experience, members of the USO began to offer mini wedding packages for the service members getting married there. Many couples were in need of a witness at their wedding, so members of the USO stepped in as their witness aand would then invite them back to their center so the couple could have their first dance together as a married couple.
For the first wedding the USO was involved with, they supplied a donut for the couple to cut aand some apple juice for a toast. After that first wedding, they realized they needed to upgrade their dessert option. Several years ago ADC partnered with the USO to supply mini cakes for them to keep on haand to give to the newlyweds who couldn’t experience the full-blown event of a wedding. Whether it’s for financial reasons, time constraints due to an upcoming deployment, or even just their choice to keep it simple, it touches our hearts each time we bring a smile to the faces of those who serve our country, aand we are honored to be able to take part in their wedding day.
In addition to our wedding cake donations, American Dream Cakes is proud to help the USO by donating pies, cakes, cupcakes, aand other treats for their holiday parties aand other events throughout the year.
Coming up, we will be sponsoring the Gingerbread House Decorating classes at Jacksonville Commons Recreation Center. The classes run from November 18-19, 2016. Those who sign up will learn how to make a festive gingerbread house for the holidays. Following the classes, there will be a gingerbread house competition on December 4, 2016 at the Jacksonville Commons. Team ADC will be a part of the judging panel.
