Consultations & The Booking Process

Here at American Dream Cakes, we believe your cake should not only be beautiful, it should also taste delicious! Having served countless couples across Eastern North Carolina since 2001; we still work with each couple individually to make their wedding cake personalized and unique. We recommended you schedule your consultation appointment as soon as you have an idea in mind as certain dates can close out up to 12 months in advance. Each date has a limited number of time slots as all of our cakes are baked fresh, and then decorated on the day of your event.

We offer both in-person consultations at the bakery by appointment, as well as consults through Facebook, Instagram, or email. Consults allow us to go over the couple’s wishes for design, size, colors, flavors etc. Our cake designers will answer questions, make recommendations, and review potential designs. It is helpful if you have colors, themes (if any), florals, or reference photos ready prior to your consultation. Quote(s) will be given at the consult or emailed separately if needed. Price quotes are guaranteed for 30 days, however, a quote does not count as having booked and as such does not guarantee your timeslot will remain open. For in-person consults, the first consult of up to an hour is complimentary, if more time is needed or a second consult is desired, a $25.00 per started hour fee will apply. Please call the bakery if you’re looking to schedule an in-person consult.

For orders requiring delivery (3-tier or larger, large sculpted cakes, and equivalent sized orders) you must have your venue booked and reception time finalized before we can write a contract. American Dream Cakes does not utilize 3rd party delivery services. We have our own experienced in-house driver who delivers, usually accompanied by a cake decorator so there are limited number of timeslots for availability. Delivery fees are separate from cake cost and are based on mileage from the bakery.

In order to book with us, the size and general design of the cake (or desserts) must be finalized, flavors and fillings can be determined at a later date. This allows us to draft a contract with all of the details and move forward with securing a 50% retaining fee of the total bill. A signed contract must be received before we can process the retaining fee. Once the retaining fee is processed, your date and time is reserved with us! The remainder of your balance is due no later than 30 days from the date of your event. Payments can be made both in person and over the phone; at this time we do not have a means of taking online payments for contracts.

*The bakery does not offer stand rentals for displaying on dessert tables, all displays must be provided by clients/venues.

Delivery Details

American Dream Cakes™ delivers wedding cakes (3-tier or larger) to most of Eastern NC, including but not limited to the following locations:

• Sneeds Ferry
• Surf City
• Swansboro
• Topsail
• Verona
• Wilmington
• Wrightsville Beach

Deliveries of 3-tier or larger wedding cakes are free within Jacksonville NC City limits. A delivery fee will apply to all other venues based on distance from the bakery.

*Sunday & Monday bookings are subject to an additional $250 fee, to cover costs of staff during non-business hours.
